What a plumbing invoice should include
Most plumbing disputes aren't about the work. They're about the bill: why the call-out is charged on top of the labour, why a tap costs more than the one the customer saw online, why an hour on a Sunday isn't the same as an hour on a Tuesday.

Not every job needs every line. Use the ones that match how you charge.
Call-out fee
The fixed charge for turning up and diagnosing the fault. Show it separately so the customer never thinks it's hidden inside the labour.
Labour hours
Time on site at your hourly rate. Say the hours plainly. If you charge a minimum first hour, put that on the invoice too.
Parts and materials
Taps, valves, pipe, fittings, sealant. Itemise them. A customer who can see the part and its price rarely argues about the markup.
Emergency or out-of-hours rate
Nights, weekends and bank holidays. Charge it as its own line or a clearly labelled surcharge, never as a quietly inflated hourly rate.
Diagnostic or survey
Camera surveys, leak detection, pressure testing. Separate from the repair, because sometimes the customer only buys this part.
Waste removal and disposal
Taking away an old cylinder, radiator or bathroom suite. Skip hire and tip fees belong here.
VAT or sales tax
If you're registered, show the rate and the amount. Keep it as its own line so the net figure stays readable.
Guarantee or warranty note
Not a charge, but put it on the invoice. A stated guarantee on parts and labour is the cheapest marketing you'll ever do.

What should a plumbing invoice include?

Should the call-out fee be separate from labour?
